One of Truro’s newest hair salons: ‘Blow Out‘ has set up a Blow Dry Bar in Aqua and I went to try it out today.
The new ‘wash and set’ that our Mothers swore by (mine still does). In the 80s it was huge ‘Charlene’ perms kept curly with diffusers, in the 90s, the ‘bed-head’ style just needed a good rub of axel grease into our choppy hair before we flew out of the door, but now we’re wanting something a bit sleeker. Hence the rise in popularity of these walk in bars.
I had a meeting booked at lunchtime today, so arranged my wash and
set blow-dry for an hour before. This left me with one hour free this morning to get grubby in the garden, pull up all the weeds, sweep the paths safe in the knowledge that my hair wouldn’t be looking like Worzel Gummidge in a wind tunnel for my appointment later on.
The salon is light, bright, the staff were friendly and the coffee was really good. Zoe tamed my wild, mizzle messed up hair into a sleek wonderfulness that St. Anna of Wintour would have been proud to sport in the F-row.
I loved the Dyson hairdryer and the 60s hairspray – it even kept the mane tame on a grey Cornish day.
What’s more, Aqua and Blow Out are throwing a party on Friday 3rd March. Get your tickets from the store – more details here
I’m very grateful to my gym Anytime Fitness, as this blow dry was free to all female members. Thank you guys – I will be back at the gym……soonish…..I promise!
