Its one month since Br…. (you know what) and so far I’ve seen more shop openings in Truro than I can remember in a long time. In fact so many, that after a week of raising glasses at each of them, I’ve sworn off alcohol for a few weeks! Jac and I were thrilled to get an invite to, Goldbird Hair Designs owned by Joanne Innis.
I bumped into Joanne at Plum Boutique recently and she filled me in on her exciting plans. Goldbird has long been a dream for Joanne who started life sweeping the floors at a hairdressers in Wadebridge and she’s thrilled that everything has come together for the opening in Lemon Street.
The salon itself is in the basement on the left hand side (as you go down the hill), but forget all thoughts of gloomy cellars, this interior has been transformed into an airy contemporary space. Full of on-trend copper and gold fittings (I spied a copper vase from Illustrated Living which looked perfect)
Joanne commented ‘I’m lucky to be based in Cornwall, The county is such a creative hive right now.’ A majority of her work is in the wedding sector which has seen a real boon recently ‘Whereas before, brides looking for perfection would source their dresses and styling from boutiques and salons in London now they can access the same high level of expertise in Cornwall’
It was no surprise, therefore, to bump into Amanda from Amanda K Bridal, other fashion bloggers and legendary Cornish photographer Emma Griffin (all these brilliant photos are hers). Dulcie from Miller Commercial had organised the evening and was also busy snapping polaroids on a rather natty blue camera.
Kip Kaeolor and Stacey Louise perfectly modelled Joanne’s hair designs, the prosecco flowed and a very good time was had by all.
Jac and I wish you all the best Joanne!
