As we’ve been so lucky the last few weeks with this heatwave it’s definitely time to get the summer wardrobe out in full swing. The best way to update your wardrobe for a new season is with accessories. It’s the most affordable way to touch on current trends.
There are a few key accessories trends that have been spotted everywhere inspired by high fashion that we can all work into our wardrobe.
The slip on loafer
This style of loafer has been everywhere after the amazing last Gucci collection. Going for a bold colour is great to add a pop of colour in a plain outfit perfect for summer and perfect for those of us who usually shy away from colour in our wardrobes. Whether you choose a print, fringing, suede, and colour or matt, a loafer shoe is the style we should all be living in this season. The ones in the picture are from Bishop Philpott.
The straw bag
Another new trend is textured bags of any kind from the picnic basket to the woven bag or embroidery. There is such a variety out there now some big enough for the beach or hand luggage or clutch bags both styles have the perfect holiday, beach vibes. Straw bags above by Bishop Philpott.
Adding a detailed embroidered clutch would be the perfect addition with a simple maxi dress and sandals for a summer evening meal by the beach. This by Plum Boutique
The final accessory trend is just bold colours, everything from shoes to sunglasses should be a brighter colour than normal. It doesn’t matter what colour just go bright, from orange, blues and pinks. As I said about the loafers if you don’t normally wear a lot of colour this is the best wear to touch on the trend through your accessories. Along with the loafers some colour blocking heels or sandals would be perfect.
Sunglasses are an everyday must for this season (when the weather is this good anyway) choose a coloured frame or even some bright lenses to add a pop to finish each outfit, perfect! Sunglasses from Little Boutique and fab hat in the cover photo by Benetton in Nalders Court.
Truro at the moment is full of so many perfect accessories that tick all the boxes to get on board with the biggest trends this summer.
